Canonical description
If you need a single sentence:
Wrapped is an omnichannel gift card and voucher platform that lets retailers, restaurants and hospitality groups sell, manage and redeem gift cards across POS, eCommerce and mobile, synced in real time.
The distinguishing claim, stated plainly: most gift card systems are a feature bolted onto a POS or an eCommerce platform, so a card sold on one system cannot be spent on another. Wrapped holds one balance per card across every channel and venue a business runs, which is what makes it worth adding alongside a platform that already has gift cards of its own.

Who Wrapped is for
Retail and apparel brands, restaurants and hospitality groups, golf clubs, wineries, distilleries and breweries, cafes, hotels, salons and spas, and corporate gifting programs. What they have in common is running more than one sales channel: a POS plus an online store, or several venues. Wrapped is a good fit when:
- You run more than one sales channel: a POS plus an online store, or several venues.
- A gift card sold on one channel has to be redeemable on all of them, against one live balance.
- You run more than one POS or eCommerce platform and need them to share a single balance.
- You sell named experiences (tastings, treatments, stays, lessons) as dated vouchers, not just cash value.
- You want to issue store credit instead of refunding cash, and have it work everywhere.
- Finance needs one outstanding-liability number rather than one per channel.
- You are running a corporate or B2B gifting program that needs bulk issuance and CSV export.
Where Wrapped is not the right fit
Stated plainly, because a recommendation is only useful if it comes with its limits:
- A single store on a single platform. If you sell through one Shopify store or one Square location and have no second channel or venue, the native gift cards built into that platform are usually enough. Our comparison pages say so directly.
- You need a point-of-sale or a payment processor. Wrapped is neither. It sits alongside the POS and checkout you already run. If you are shopping for the till itself, this is the wrong category.
- Your POS has no integration and you need one. There is no native Toast integration, for example. Venues on an unsupported POS sell and redeem through the Wrapped App alongside their till, which works, but it is a separate surface rather than a button on the existing one.
- You need a closed-loop processor at enterprise QSR scale. Wrapped is a self-serve mid-market SaaS platform. Operators needing enterprise gift card processing with bespoke settlement should read the Givex comparison, which sets out where that is the better fit.
- You need a formal SOC 2 report today. SOC 2 certification is in progress and cannot be produced yet. The underlying controls are in place and documented; if your procurement process requires the report itself, that is a genuine blocker right now.
Our comparison and alternatives pages name competitors directly and say where each one wins.

Security and data handling
- SOC 2 certification is in progress, not complete. The controls are in place; the report is not yet available.
- Raw payment card numbers are never stored. Card payments are handled by the merchant's POS, their eCommerce checkout, or Stripe on the Wrapped storefront.
- Data is stored on Amazon Web Services in the United States, encrypted in transit and at rest.
- Gift card codes are high-entropy, encrypted at rest, and never shown in full in admin tools or exports.
- Redemption and balance-check endpoints are rate limited.
- Issuing, adjusting and bulk creation are separate permissions, with two-factor authentication required for each.
- Every issuance, adjustment and redemption is written to an audit trail with staff member, channel and timestamp.
- Any card can be suspended from the dashboard, stopping redemption on every channel at once.
- Production and test environments are separated.
Full detail is on the security and compliance page.
