Gift cards that work across Lightspeed X-Series and WooCommerce
Question: We currently use WooCommerce and Lightspeed Retail POS (Lightspeed X-Series). Is there a way our gift cards can be bought on WooCommerce and used in Lightspeed and vice versa?
Answer: Wrapped developed a gift card solution that works across Lightspeed X-Series and WooCommerce, providing a unified solution for both in-store and online gift card purchases and redemptions.
Selling and accepting gift cards in Lightspeed X-Series Retail POS
- When a customer buys a gift card in-store via Lightspeed, the balance is also created in WooCommerce under the same code.
- To accept payment, select the gift card payment type and scan/type the code. The balance updates across both platforms.
Selling and accepting gift cards in WooCommerce
When a customer buys online, Wrapped generates the code in both WooCommerce and Lightspeed. Two selling options:
- Via the WooCommerce product page with normal checkout
- Via the Wrapped storefront embedded on WooCommerce with Stripe payment

Because both platforms read and write the same canonical balance, there is no reconciliation step and no window where the two disagree. That is the difference between a real integration and a nightly sync.
