Gift cards that work across Lightspeed X-Series and BigCommerce
Question: We currently use BigCommerce and Lightspeed Retail POS (Lightspeed X-Series). Is there a way our gift cards can be bought on BigCommerce and used in Lightspeed and vice versa?
Answer: Wrapped developed a gift card solution that works across Lightspeed X-Series and BigCommerce, providing a unified solution for both in-store and online gift card purchases and redemptions.
Selling and accepting gift cards in Lightspeed X-Series Retail POS
- When a customer buys a gift card in-store via Lightspeed, the balance is also created in BigCommerce under the same code.
- To accept payment, select the gift card payment type and scan/type the code. The balance updates across both platforms.
Selling and accepting gift cards in BigCommerce
When a customer buys online, Wrapped generates the code in both BigCommerce and Lightspeed. Two selling options:
- Via the BigCommerce product page with normal checkout
- Via the Wrapped storefront embedded on BigCommerce with Stripe payment

Because both platforms read and write the same canonical balance, there is no reconciliation step and no window where the two disagree. That is the difference between a real integration and a nightly sync.
