Gift cards and experience vouchers for wineries, distilleries and breweries
Wrapped is a gift card platform for wineries, distilleries and breweries. It lets you sell cash gift cards and dated experience vouchers — tastings, tours, blending sessions, long lunches — across your cellar door POS, your restaurant, and your online store, all on one balance that stays in sync in real time.
In 30 seconds
A producer connects Wrapped to the cellar door till (Lightspeed Retail or Square), the restaurant or tasting-room POS (Lightspeed Restaurant), and the online store (Shopify, Shopify Plus, WooCommerce or BigCommerce). Cash gift cards, experience vouchers for tastings and tours, and store credit all post to one ledger. A voucher bought online is scannable at the cellar door; a gift card bought at the door works in the online shop. Four Pillars Gin and Melt run their programs this way.
The cellar door and the online shop are the same business — the gift card should know that
Most producers end up running at least two systems: a POS at the cellar door and tasting room, and a separate eCommerce store for direct-to-consumer sales and club shipments. Gift cards issued by one are invisible to the other. A visitor buys a gift card after a tasting, the recipient tries to spend it online, and it does not exist.
That failure lands at the worst possible moment — someone is trying to give your product as a gift, which is the highest-intent brand interaction you get. Wrapped holds the balance above both systems, so the card works wherever the recipient chooses to use it, and the balance updates everywhere the instant it is spent.
Experience vouchers: the product that actually suits a cellar door
A dollar amount is a weak gift for a winery or distillery. A tasting flight for two, a distillery tour, a blending experience, a long lunch in the vineyard — those are the things people actually want to give, and they sell at a materially higher average value than an open-ended cash card.
Wrapped treats experience vouchers as first-class products rather than a workaround: a defined experience, optionally dated for booking management, QR-coded for scan redemption at the door, and posted to the same liability ledger as cash gift cards. Staff scan and redeem in one action; finance sees one consolidated liability number.
- Dated and bookable.
- Attach a valid-from and valid-until date so vouchers fit your seasonal opening hours and booking system.
- QR scan redemption.
- Redeem at the door in a single scan rather than typing codes into a till under pressure on a busy Saturday.
- Redeemed once, cleanly.
- An experience voucher is consumed as a single transaction, so there is no confusing residual balance on a tour that cost less than the voucher.
- Same ledger as cash cards.
- Vouchers and cash gift cards appear in one liability report rather than being tracked in a spreadsheet.
Keeping the brand experience premium
Producers invest heavily in packaging, label design and cellar-door atmosphere, then hand the gifting moment to a generic system emailing a plain code. The recipient — someone who may never have bought from you — forms their first impression there.
Wrapped gives you a fully branded gifting storefront on your own domain, branded gift card and voucher designs, personalised messages, scheduled delivery for birthdays and anniversaries, and one-tap add to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. Physical cards can be printed to match your label design and sold at the door alongside bottles.
Club members, refunds and store credit
Store credit is underused in this category. A corked bottle, a shipment damaged in transit, a club member who wants to skip an allocation — each of those is usually settled in cash, which takes revenue out of the business permanently.
Refund-to-credit turns the same gesture into retained revenue: the customer gets their value back as branded credit, spendable at the cellar door, the restaurant or online. Customers typically spend beyond the credited amount when they redeem, so the recovery gesture frequently nets out positive.

Getting started
Setup is four steps: brand your gift card assets and storefront, connect your POS and any online store, import existing gift cards so outstanding balances keep working, and optionally order physical cards. Most businesses are live the same day. Pricing starts at $49 per month with a 14-day free trial, published in full on the pricing page.
