Gift cards for cafes, coffee shops and quick service
Wrapped is a gift card platform for cafes, coffee shops and quick-service venues. It keeps one gift card balance across your counter POS, your mobile ordering channel and your online store, so a card works wherever the customer orders — and redeems fast enough not to hold up the queue.
In 30 seconds
A cafe group connects Wrapped to the counter POS (Lightspeed Restaurant, Square or Heartland), mobile ordering (Bopple), and any online store (Shopify or the Wrapped storefront). One balance covers all of them. Redemption is a scan or a code entry at the till, and partial balances update everywhere instantly. Nodo runs this across nine sites and reported redemption up 30%.
Speed at the counter is the whole game
A cafe gift card lives or dies on how it behaves during the morning rush. If staff have to void a balance, reissue a card, or call a manager because the card was bought on a different channel, the gift card program becomes something the team quietly stops offering.
That is the exact failure Nodo described before moving to Wrapped: customers arriving with a digital card that the till could not take, and staff having to void the old balance and create a new liability by hand to transfer value. Slow, clunky and inefficient, in their words. A single canonical balance removes the whole class of problem — the card is the card, wherever it was bought.
Mobile ordering is a first-class channel, not an afterthought
Quick service has moved to the phone. If your gift cards work at the counter but not in your mobile ordering app, you have excluded the channel your most frequent customers actually use — and those are precisely the people most likely to hold a balance.
Wrapped integrates natively with Bopple for mobile ordering alongside the counter POS, so the same balance is available in the app and at the till. A customer can start a card at the counter and finish it on their phone the next morning.
Multi-site groups and one balance
Cafe groups grow site by site, and often end up with a mix of systems across locations. Without a layer above the POS, each site effectively runs its own gift card scheme, and customers discover the boundary at the counter.
Wrapped covers up to 3 sites on the Basic plan, 7 on Pro, and 12 on Plus, with additional sites at $20 per month each. Reporting breaks down by site so you can see where cards are sold versus where they are redeemed — which for cafe groups is often a useful signal about which sites are acquiring customers for the others.
- One card, every site.
- A card sold at one cafe is redeemable at all of them, with the balance shared in real time.
- Per-site reporting.
- See sales and redemptions broken down by location, plus channel-level liability.
- Role-based permissions.
- Baristas can redeem without being able to issue value; managers get issuance and adjustment rights.
- Wallet-ready.
- Customers add cards to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet in one tap, so the card is on the phone they are already holding.
Gift cards as a local acquisition tool
Cafes are local businesses, and gift cards are one of the cheapest customer-acquisition instruments available to them. Handing out small-value cards at markets, to nearby offices, to schools and clubs, or as part of a community sponsorship gets people through the door with no pressure to buy.
The economics work because customers commonly spend beyond the loaded value at redemption. A $10 card handed to a neighbour typically becomes a larger sale, and often a repeat customer. Because the redemption is tracked, you can actually measure whether the campaign worked instead of guessing.

Getting started
Setup is four steps: brand your gift card assets and storefront, connect your POS and any online store, import existing gift cards so outstanding balances keep working, and optionally order physical cards.
